RULES OF THE CONTEST

  1. Fill out and return the registration form below no later than Monday, November 23, 2009 to be considered for the competition.
  2. Lights must be included in the decoration of your windows and/or façade. Judging will be held on Tuesday, December 1 and Wednesday, December 2, 2009.
  3. The winners will be announced at the Festival of Lights Tree Lighting Ceremony in Center City Park, 7:00 PM on Friday, December 4, 2009.
  4. Winners will receive certificates for display.
  5. The News & Record will award three first prizes of new advertising valued at $1,000 each. First prize winners will be selected in the categories of Large Window, Small Window and Non-profit Window. The winners will be able to use this credit in 2010 to pay for an advertising campaign in first quarter at open or earned contract rates. Preprints and tailored inserts do not apply.

  • The displays will be judged based on the following four criteria:
  • Theme Relevance 25%
  • Originality/Creativity 25%
  • Display and placement of decorations 25%
  • Overall Presentation 25%
